Fire in the Field Lab/Materials/Technology (LMT) Fee
Join us for an exciting hands-on workshop at Monarch Park’s Land Lab & Butterfly Way Station in Albany, Ohio, on Saturday, April 12th, 2025!
Fire in the Field: A Workshop on Ecological Burning for Conservation will provide a unique opportunity to learn about the role of prescribed (Rx) fire in habitat restoration. Participants will gain practical, hands-on experience in planning and executing a prescribed burn (live fire supervised by certified prescribed fire manager) while also learning about fire safety, best practices for burning, and the ecological benefits of fire in habitat restoration and conservation efforts.
It’s a great way to enhance your understanding of and contribution to meaningful ecological work.
To register for this workshop, follow these steps:
- Open your Student Profile in a new tab. Complete it after you've submitted your LMT fee.
- Pay your LMT fee on this page.
- Check your email within 2-3 business days after you submit your payment and Student Profile. You will receive a virtual Welcome Package containing optional online pre-work, an agenda, waiver, and a list of items you should bring to the workshop.
If you haven't received your Welcome Package within four (4) business days, please email [email protected].
Please note: Fire in the Field is the face-to-face component of a graduate course called Water, Earth, Wind, and Fire, which is part of a broader professional development program for Science and Social Studies educators: Through the Eyes of Butterflies. Fire in the Field is open to the public.
