Help Wanted: Groundskeeper/Workamper

About the Park:
The Monarch Park, located in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains in Southeastern Ohio, is a new private Park and nationally certified way station for the Monarch butterfly.  It is our mission to promote the health and wellness of our community by investing in both social and environmental justice. In addition to restoring the land, we also try to restore the soul.  We host diversity and inclusion workshops and camping retreats (learn more).  We are intentional in creating a safe and inclusive space especially for people of color, women, and/or people who identify as LGBTQ.  The end result is a rustic retreat for adults who want to learn more about sustainable social and environmental justice while having fun and meeting new friends in a comfortable and affirming atmosphere!

About the Position:
We are in the initial stage of developing the Park, and for summer 2021, we need someone who can be on-site (see compensation) to help with routine maintenance and groundskeeping as well as with all of our special projects!  We are looking for one (1) part-time person (average 25-35 hours per week).  Start date is August 31st with a commitment through October 30th.  Some evenings and weekends, but no holidays.

Compensation:
In exchange for your help, we offer you an off-grid parking space for a tent, camper, or RV. A 15’ aluminum canoe (moored at Lake Snowden) is also available when not otherwise in use.

what our guests are saying

"I think that I have found my new happy place. This was the perfect place to get away and relax for a few days. I just wish that I could have stayed for a month. Cory is an awesome host. He made us feel welcome from the moment we stepped on the property. It felt less like an Airbnb transaction and more like stopping by to see a friend."
